Joseph Gleason

Joe was born in the Twin Cities in Minnesota, but was raised and spent most of his life in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Joe attended Brookwood High School in Gwinnett County, where he ran track and cross country and was a decorated member of the varsity debate team.

After graduating high school with honors, Joe received multiple academic scholarships to attend the University of Georgia, and studied political science in UGA’s Franklin College of Arts & Sciences. While in college, Joe served as Vice President of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity, and studied abroad at the Jesus College of Oxford University in Oxford, England. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude.

Joe went on to attend the University of Georgia School of Law, again on academic scholarship. While in law school, Joe interned with the Hon. James E. Graham, U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Southern District of Georgia in Brunswick, Georgia. Joe also interned with the Hon. Willis B. Hunt. Jr., U.S District Judge for the Northern District of Georgia in Atlanta, Georgia. In law school, Joe was inducted into the Order of the Coif, a national honor society that recognizes academic achievement and promotes ethical standards in the legal profession. Joe graduated from law school with his Juris Doctorate degree, magna cum laude.

After graduation, Joe worked for one of the largest law firms in Atlanta, successfully handling all types of litigation. He became a partner in that firm, but eventually found it unfulfilling working for the world’s largest companies. Joe decided to start his own practice, where he had more control over the clients and cases on which he chose to work. In his solo practice, Joe was able to successfully use his litigation skills on behalf of both individuals and much smaller companies. Joe won a jury verdict for a client of over $135 million, which was the second-highest jury verdict in Georgia that year.

Joe’s passion for helping individuals fight against powerful interests led him to The Stoddard Firm. Joe enjoys using his two-decades of civil litigation experience to help individuals achieve justice in their cases.

When not working, Joe enjoys spending time with his wife Beth, a research scientist at Emory University, and their two daughters Emma and Sarah Kate. Joe and his family are members at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer on Peachtree Road. In his spare time, Joe also enjoys golfing, fly fishing, and smoking meats. Joe also enjoys following his beloved Georgia Bulldogs and attending concerts to hear live music.
